Join us for a bi-monthly Eastside Contact Improvisation (CI) class + jam designed for beginners and seasoned movers alike. This is a welcoming space for all bodies and all levels.
Contact Improvisation is a movement research practice focused on exploring physics, gravity, and listening through movement in contact with others and with the floor.
The intention of this jam is to create a focused and accessible space to practice contact improvisation and deepen our research together.
We will begin with a 1-hour open levels class (led this month by Marie Osterman) and then open into a jam. No previous experience is required to attend.
CI offers practices that translate directly into everyday life and relationships such as:
❤️Attunement & listening beyond words
🧡Nervous system regulation & co-regulation
💛Welcoming tension and conflict as part of the dance
💚Finding ease and less effort through mutuality
💜Trusting intuition and adapting to change
